What do I need to bring to my appointment?

What you need to bring to your DNA sample collection appointment is your state ID (license or passport). 

If you are a New York State resident all parties involved with your DNA test are required to get a prescription from NYS licensed doctor, a court order from judge or letter from a family law attorney.


What type DNA sample will be collected?

The method of collection is performed by buccal cheek swab. Blood samples are another viable sample collection method by it is more invasive and painful method of collection. Both collection options have a similar accuracy.


When will I receive my DNA results?

The turnaround time for results is 2 to 3 business days from the date the lab receives all genetic samples.

Does the DNA results need to tested by an accredited lab?
